Compare business gas prices without the guesswork
Standing charge or no standing charge, 12 to 60 month terms, majors and independents — we price your actual usage against all of it and show you the workings.
Standing charge or no standing charge?
With standing charge
A fixed daily fee plus a lower unit rate. Usually wins for premises using gas steadily all year — the more kWh you spread the daily fee across, the cheaper each one gets.
No standing charge
No daily fee; the cost sits in a higher unit rate. Can win for low-usage or seasonal sites — but the crossover point depends entirely on your annual kWh, so it has to be calculated, not guessed.
We run both structures against your actual usage and show you the total annual cost of each — that's the only comparison that matters.
Business gas FAQs
Should I choose a standing charge or no standing charge gas contract?
It depends on usage. A standing charge tariff has a fixed daily fee with lower unit rates — usually better for steady, higher usage. No standing charge tariffs load the cost into the unit rate — sometimes better for low or seasonal usage, such as premises closed part of the year. We calculate both against your actual annual kWh.
What is an MPRN?
Your Meter Point Reference Number — a 6 to 10 digit number identifying your gas supply point, shown on your gas bill (not on the meter itself). We can look it up from your postcode if you can't find it.
When can I switch business gas supplier?
In the renewal window before your contract end date — commonly the last 6 months, and up to 12 with some suppliers. If a termination notice is required, we serve it for you so the contract can't roll over.
My business uses very little gas — is it still worth switching?
Usually, yes. Low-usage sites are hit hardest by out-of-contract rates and standing charges, so the percentage saving from a negotiated contract is often larger, not smaller.
