Go green without paying a green premium
Many people assume renewable tariffs cost more. Often they don't — several suppliers on our panel price REGO-backed electricity at or near their standard rates. We'll show you the green option alongside every standard quote, so the choice is yours with the numbers in front of you.
REGO-certified renewable electricity
Every UK supplier must disclose how the electricity it sells was generated. A REGO — Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin — certifies that a unit of electricity came from a renewable source such as wind or hydro. On a fully REGO-backed tariff, your reported electricity consumption can be counted as zero-carbon under the GHG Protocol's market-based method.
For your business that means simpler emissions reporting, a credential you can evidence to customers and tenders, and a genuine contribution to renewable generation demand. More on REGOs at Ofgem.
Certified green gas
Green gas is biomethane produced from sources like agricultural material, food waste and wastewater treatment, injected into the grid in place of fossil gas. It's certified by Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs) and Biomethane Certificates, matched to each kWh you consume.
Your supply arrives through the same pipes as before — what changes is what your consumption funds and how you can report it. For businesses with net-zero commitments, certified green gas is one of the few practical levers on gas emissions available today.
Green and standard, side by side, every time
Ask for a quote and you'll see the renewable option priced next to the standard one — same term, same structure. When the premium is zero, the decision makes itself; when it isn't, you'll know exactly what the credential costs.
